It’s official – the official Lolla Aftershows are here. The festival has announced “a long list of heavy-hitters ready to rock out with you all weekend,” featuring 2013 Lollapalooza artists including Imagine Dragons, The Lumineers and Eric Church.
First, a quick recap of the important Lollapalooza dates. The festival returns to Chicago’s Grant Park Aug. 2-4 with a lineup topped by The Cure, Mumford & Sons, The Killers, Nine Inch Nails, Phoenix, The Postal Service and Vampire Weekend.
OK, now let’s get back to the official Lolla update of the day. The “after shows” take place at local venues during the nights leading up to the Windy City festival, with gigs on July 31 and Aug. 1, as well as during the festival Aug. 2-4.
Wednesday, July 31 features Imagine Dragons, Icona Pop and more at Metro; Timeflies with Keys N Krats at The Vic Theatre; Thievery Corporation with DJ Mel at House of Blues; and Smith Westerns at Lincoln Hall.
Thursday Aug. 1 has Lana Del Rey at House Of Blues, Hot Chip with Bear Mountain at The Vic Theatre; Atlas Genius with San Cisco at Schubas Tavern; Father John Misty with Night Moves at Lincoln Hall; Hiatus Kaiyote at Subterranean; and Wild Nothing with Circles at Empty Bottle.
Eric Church with Frontier Ruckus plays Metro Aug. 2. Friday’s aftershows also includes Local Natives with Wake Owl at House Of Blues; The Lumineers at The Vic Theatre; Jessie Ware at Lincoln Hall; Flux Pavilion with Dillon Francis at Aragon Ballroom; SBTRKT and Disclosure at The Mid; and many more acts.
The aftershow roster for Saturday, Aug. 3 features Band Of Horses with Reignwolf at Metro; Two Door Cinema Club with MS MR at House of Blues; Matt and Kim with Robert DeLong at The Vic Theatre; Frightened Rabbit with Wild Belle at Park West; Kendrick Lamar with Bauuer at Aragon Ballroom; and many more acts.
Sunday, Aug. 4 closes down the Lolla festivities with aftershows by Wavves with E.T. Habit at Empty Bottle; Palma Violets with Wild Cub at Schubas Tavern; and Alt-J with Guards at Lincoln Hall. Read more on the Pollstar story here…
