The Flaming Lips continue to add to the band’s 2013 schedule bit by bit. After booking a one-off show in Reno, Nev., last week, the psychedelic rockers have announced a short run of U.S. dates with support from Tame Impala.
Wayne Coyne & Co. are touring in support of the band’s latest studio album, The Terror, released in April.
The band will take the stage next with The Black Keys in Raleigh, N.C., July 11 and Simpsonville, S.C., July 12.
The Lips’ summer itinerary includes appearances at Forecastle Festival in Louisville, Ky.; Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party; Maha Music Festival in Omaha, Neb.; and Bestival in Isle Of Wight, England. Plus, the guys are playing “Rock For Oklahoma” July 23 in Oklahoma City to benefit victims of the tornadoes that recently hit the band’s home state.
Along with the July 30 gig in Reno, previously announced headline dates include Wallingford, Conn.(July 15); Pittsburgh (July 16); Lewiston, N.Y. (July 17); and Troutdale, Ore. (July 27). Read more on this new release here…
