Seattle’s annual Bumbershoot Festival Aug. 31-Sept. 2 got a whole lot funnier this week with the announcement of this year’s comedy lineup including Patton Oswalt, Marc Maron, Todd Barry, Doug Benson and Reggie Watts.
Rising national talents Julie Klausner, Matt Besser, and SNL alums Tim Meadows and Horatio Sanz will also take the stage.
And fans in the mood for some hometown ha-has can catch comedians from Seattle’s Laff Hole, Tacoma’s Comedy Club and the Vancouver Comedy Fest.
“Bumbershoot is a living, breathing, working comedian’s fantasy of what doing stand-up comedy should be,” Oswalt said. “I’m not sure, at this point, if I’ve ever really performed at Bumbershoot, or if it’s a recurring dream I keep having. Bumbershoot might not even exist.”
Of course Bumbershoot does, in fact, exist, and the fest has gone the extra mile to make things easy for die-hard comedy fans.
Bumbershoot offers a daily comedy pass that guarantees admission into a fan’s chosen performance, or a platinum pass that guarantees admission into all comedy performances at all three venues – Bagley Wright Theatre, Intiman Playhouse and Vera. Read the rest of the article here…
