The track, titled “Atlas,” marks the first time that the Grammy award-winning band has contributed an original work to a motion picture.
Following last year’s buzzy, star-studded Hunger Games soundtrack, Lionsgate and Republic Records have revealed the first artist to be featured on the Catching Fire album: Coldplay.
The multiplatinum, multi-Grammy winning band will release the first song off the official Catching Fire soundtrack, titled “Atlas,” on Aug. 26. This marks the first time that Coldplay has ever recorded an original song for a motion picture.
