The folk rockers reveal that their latest full-length, “Magpie and the Dandelion,” is due out in October, while first single, “Another Is Waiting,” just debuted on NPR.
The Avett Brothers shared some big news with fans on Thursday (Aug. 8): in an open letter to fans, the band announced that another full-length album is set to be released on October 15.
Magpie and the Dandelion follows last year’s The Carpenter and will mark the third time the band has collaborated with producer Rick Rubin. The album’s first single, “Another Is Waiting,” debuted on NPR on Thursday.
In the open letter, the band revealed that the forthcoming album was recorded during the same sessions as their last album, which has sold 312,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. “While we were working on The Carpenter, we were so inspired that we wrote another record as well,” the band writes. “During those sessions, we just felt it. Working with Rick Rubin again, we tapped into something very special. It’s like everybody was in the same zone.
