The Arizona Diamondbacks are coming off a 69 win season and a fourth place finish in the National League West. The Diamondbacks failed to make the 2016 MLB Playoffs and finished behind the Dodgers, Giants, and Rockies. The Diamondbacks will be looking to rebound for the 2017 MLB season.
Joining in 1998, the Arizona Diamondbacks are one of the youngest franchises in Major League Baseball (MLB). The D’backs play their home games at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. Known for its unique pool just over the centerfield wall, the venue is also call “The BOB” which is the initials of its former name.
Over the team’s short existence, the Diamondbacks have won one World Series Championship (2001) and five National League West Division titles (1999, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2011). Behind the pitching of Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling the D’backs defeated the New York Yankees in seven games to win the world Series title.
