Founded in 1993, the Florida Panthers are a professional ice hockey team based in Sunrise, FL and play their home games at the BB&T Center. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference along with the New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lighting, and the Washington Capitals. The Panthers have made one appearance in the Stanley Cup Finals, in 1996 where they lost to the Colorado Avalanche.
