Founded in 1995 as the Vancouver Grizzlies and the franchise moved to Memphis in 2001. The Grizzlies compete in the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division against tough competition like the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, and New Orleans Pelicans. They play their home games at FedExForum which seats around 18,000 screaming basketball fans each night. The Grizzlies are the only team in the major professional North American sports leagues based in the city of Memphis.
