In 1999, guitarist Billy Howerdel and vocalist Maynard James Keenan from Tool formed a rock super group. The latest lineup also includes Puscifer and Ashes Divide bassist Matt McJunkins; former The Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha; and Puscifer and Ashes Divide touring drummer, Jeff Friedl.
After 2004, the band disbanded as the individuals began focusing on their own groups or other projects. They regrouped in 2011 and in 2013 released to albums: A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone and Echo, and a Greatest Hits album. The band is back together again this year.
