The Arizona Diamondbacks are coming off a 93 win season and a second place finish in the National League West. The Diamondbacks lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS (National League Divisional Series) in the 2016 MLB Playoffs. The Diamondbacks will be looking to build off that playoff momentum for the 2018 MLB season.
Joining in 1998, the Arizona Diamondbacks are one of the youngest franchises in Major League Baseball (MLB). The D’backs play their home games at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. Known for its unique pool just over the centerfield wall, the venue is also call “The BOB” which is the initials of its former name.
Over the team’s short existence, the Diamondbacks have won one World Series Championship (2001) and five National League West Division titles (1999, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2011). Behind the pitching of Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling the D’backs defeated the New York Yankees in seven games to win the world Series title.
