The Chicago White Sox struggled in the 2017 MLB season. The White Sox finished the year with 67 wins and 35 games out of first place in the American League Central. In the 2018 MLB season look for the White Sox to rebound and make a run at the MLB Playoffs.
In 1901, the Chicago White Stockings (changed to White Sox at a later date) took the field for the first time. The White Stockings took part in the first “official” American League game in history. More than 100 years later the Chicago team has been renamed the White Sox and won three World Series Championships as a major player in the popular American League Central.
In 1906 the White Sox won their first world series by beating their city rival, the Chicago Cubs. They took the series four games to two in the only all-Chicago World Series. In the following years, the team would struggle to regain their championship ways but along the way added important pieces to their roster. In 1917, the popular Chicago baseball team experienced their second World Series Championship by taking down the then known New York Giants.
From 1918 until 2004, the White Sox entered into a drought of World Series wins even compared to being worse than the Boston Red Sox “Bambino Curse”. However, in 2005 the White Sox put on a unbelievable display of baseball knocking down competitors left and right in the MLB playoffs to capture their third World Series title.
The Chicago White Sox are looking to get back to the World Series in the 2017 MLB Season. With a new field name and a changing roster, the White Sox are ready for the 2017 MLB season.
