Born in East Harlem, Marc Anthony grew up in a musical family and was even named after Mexican singer Marco Antonio Muniz. Marco began his career singing backup vocals for Latin bands and in his free time perfected his love of singing the style of music. In the early 90’s, Anthony got his big break when RMM Records came calling and offered him a recording contract.
Marc Anthony wears many hats but he is highly recognized for being the top selling Latin salsa dancer of all time. Anthony has won 2 Grammy’s and sold over 12 million albums worldwide. Many of his albums have reached the gold or platinum certification level. Marc Anthony is a staple in the Latin pop music genre.
