Bill Maher, born in New York City, is a comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, media critic, and television host. In his early years, he was host of the New York City comedy club Catch a Rising Star and began appearing on Johnny Carson’s and David Letterman’s shows in 1982. As a television host, he is well known for the HBO political talk show Real Time with Bill Maher. Maher comedy is defined as a sarcastic attitude, political satire, and sociopolitical commentary. He received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star on September 14, 2010.
